Her eyes looked remote, vacant, as if the scene she was currently looking at was different to the one that she was seeing in her head. If one made that assumption, if they assumed that she was not 'altogether here' then they would, of course, be correct. She had been in Paris for around a week; probably longer, the days blurred into each other to the extent that she had no idea what was what anymore. Regardless, she was bored. The dorms were boring and she barely saw Jason, he hadn't found himself a job yet - which was not suprising, due to the fact he didn't speak the language - but he was trying his hardest to find somewhere to employ him. In the meantime, he nicely did not ask where Nes was getting the money from, some things he did not want to know. Besides, she was careful these days, she wouldn't steal so obviously.
Her head was currently spinning, she'd found herself a cafe on a street that was close by her own house. She didn't know how she'd got there, or where it was now, all she knew was that they sold coke in every one of their products. It was like her personal heaven. It also explained her current state.
Words flew past her, she did not bother responding, she did not know the language. A small smile played upon her lips, one that was as vacant as it was rare. She wouldn't look out of place here, many people looked excited and anxious at the coming of the carnival; it was only her eyes that showed the source of her mood was different to others. Flashes of colours passed across her vision and Nes shook her head, eager to clear her mind and yet not wanting the haze to disappear. It was easier like this, more comfortable. There were clowns and magicians and stalls of all colours and sizes, there were things she wouldn't have recognised even if she were sober. The fact was, everything was so foreign here; especially the constant babble of French that she heard everywhere. She picked out random words every now and then, none made sense, so she contented herself with blocking the world out. It was not uncommon.
She pulled out some money, using vague gestures to point to a stick of 'fairy floss', it took a while but they got their in the end. It didn't matter if it was fairy floss or some other confectionary, Nes was suddenly, oddly, craving something sweet.

Spencer crossed his arms over his chest as he leaned against one of the city trees. He tilted his head debating on what he wanted to do. Part of him though maybe he would partake in the carnival, the only problem was. He didnt have anyone with him. It wasnt an uncommon thing. Spencer tended to be by himself unless he required company. When that was needed, usually had to do with business. He was not working, instead hed taken a walk to clear his mind, his house having a heavy haze of weed. He had a headache and thought smoking would cure it, like it normally did. This time it did not, unfortunately.
He licked his lips, a lazy kind of grin on his face. He was hungry, maybe thats why he had a headache. of course right now that sounded clearly right, then again he had skipped a few meals, work taking up a lot of his time. Maybe that idea wasnt so crazy after all. Of course his drive to have food was stronger because of the drugs, but oh well. Two birds with one stone.
Spencer pushed away from the tree entering the rest of the crowd that was in awe of the event that was going on before them. Bright lights and colors whizzed by. Spencer may not have been born in paris, but he lived there long enough to be fluent in french. A person would think he was native. Then again Spencer knew a few languages quite fluently. It helped especially in his job when he needed to conference with several foreign places.
He stopped to look at a ride that was spinning quite fast. He wasnt on it, but his head started to spin as if he was. He blinked looking away, the rest of the world kind of distorting as it spun and he reached out bracing himself against one of the concession stands. He needed to be careful. The smells of sweets and carnival food filled his nostrils and he thought for sure he might be drooling. He wiped the back of his hand across his mouth, but luckily he wasnt. It was all in his head.
He made his way towards one of the stands, trying to debate what he wanted. He couldnt make up his mind. he heard the girl in front of him ask for fairy floss. He smirked some and turned towards her after she paid. I need to check something. he said, taking the stick from her suddenly. What? He was hungry as fuck and he couldnt decide. This was like.. a test.
"Just a taste.. He took a bite. He could have pulled some off, but another part of him wanted to see what she would do. Something about her face seemed familiar but in his state it wasnt registering really. He gave her a smirk as the sugary sweetness melted in his mouth. not bad.. he said, his voice a deep monotone.
Hope you dont mind i joined. XD. Sorry its not very good. I wasnt sure how to bring him in lol))

She was about to take a bite of the fairyfloss, and she knew that she would damn well enjoy it. As she spun around she heard someone speak - English, this time, but she didn't think they were talking to her. It was only when the stick was suddenly taken from her grip that her attention snapped to the person who had spoken. Her vacant eyes narrowed and the corner of her lip twitched upwards. Anyone would think that she was trying to hold back a smile, however, anyone who knew her would know that this was actually a sign of her annoyance. Nobody fucked with her food. Especially not for 'just a taste'.
As soon as he took a bite she raised a single eyebrow, her face remained impassive to his words. That was not unusual, considering she was feeling quite numb, this annoyance about her fairyfloss was ruining that; only serving to make her more annoyed. Her hand snaked out, snatching the fairyfloss from his hand and securing it in a tighter grip. "You now owe me money. Or more fairyfloss, i'm not really concerned which." Oh yes, there goes Nessa, making friends like always.
There was something about this man that looked vaguely familiar, like a face she'd seen somewhere before. But she'd be damned if she could remember anything in this state. He couldn't be much older than her, maybe her own age even, but she was not much accustomed to stand here with strangers. Even if they did speak English, which was rare in this city. Nes took a bite of her fairyfloss, she didn't much care that he'd eaten some, it was the fact that he'd taken it without so much as a 'please'. She wasn't one to be so pretentious, normally, but this was her food they were talking about. She gave him a shameless 'once over' - not checking him out in anyway, she was inspecting his clothing. "Judging by your outift, you're not short on cash. So pay up." The tone in her voice was not hostile, it was not really anything. She smirked to herself, taking another bite of the fairyfloss.
